Business Development Manager

Our client is leading, award winning manufacturer of outstanding mayonnaise, sauces, bouillons, and dressings, selling into markets in the UK, Ireland, Europe and the USA, They now have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join their team.

They are looking for a highly motivated individual, based in the Republic of Ireland, passionate about quality and flavour in food; confident on food prep and presentation with the ability to sell quality products to a diverse range of customers.

 

Requirements for the role:

  • Experience of selling in the Republic of Ireland food service market
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of foodservice distribution in the Republic of Ireland and wider having established relationships with some of the major food service companies
  • Outstanding sales experience, proven results
  • Strong planner
  • Strong negotiator
  • Able to work with and understand sales performance metrics
  • Hands on experience with CRM software and MS Office suite particularly Excel
  • Ideally experience with food preparation for presentations

 

Purpose of the job:

  • Increase sales by working with end users to increase long term business with wholesaler’s distributors (large and small)
  • Develop direct customer base in manufacturing customers/retailers along with wholesaler and distributor customer base
  • Build their brand and reputation through development of profitable solutions throughout the business cycle
  • Opportunity to significantly influence business in a growing market

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify target customers
  • Prioritise target accounts / customers
  • Plan and achieve efficient weekly call cycle
  • Implement call plan to ensure high activity and conversion
  • Provide market intelligence
  • Manage and maintain relationships
  • On site application demos appropriate to reach business type
  • Plan and execute shows and exhibitions to support sales activity
  • Liaise and work closely with distributors and wholesalers in the region
  • Support Sales Managers and other BDMs on product demonstrations
