Excellent opportunity for an Assistant Production Manager to join an award winning,successful FMCG in Westmeath. The Assistant Production Manager will support the Production Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the food manufacturing process. This role involves ensuring that production targets are met efficiently, maintaining quality standards, and promoting a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

 

Negotiable salary depending on experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and scheduling production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
• Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Supervise and support production staff, providing training and development as needed.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to enhance productivity.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the Supply Chain department to ensure the availability of raw materials.

 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in production management software and tools.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and food industry regulations.
