Job Title: Accountant
Location: Leading Food Manufacturer, Co. Louth
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Salary: Competitive, with excellent progression opportunities
Work Arrangement: Initially site-based, with potential for remote work as you settle into the role

 

About the Role:
An excellent opportunity for an Accountant to join a leading food manufacturer. Reporting to the Financial Controller and Senior Management, you’ll play a key role in financial processes, from managing supplier invoices to assisting with monthly accounts, payroll, and audit preparations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Process supplier invoices/credits and prepare payment files
• Assist with monthly account preparation and VAT submissions
• Record bank transactions and process reconciliations
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting
• Oversee payroll and liaise with HR on records management
• Support IT initiatives and ongoing finance projects
• Assist with annual audits and ad hoc finance duties

 

Desirable Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in an SME
• Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office (Excel proficiency)
• SAGE software experience is a plus
• FMCG industry experience is an advantage but not essential
• Strong communication, analytical, and planning skills
• Proactive, team-oriented, and continuously improvement-focused
