We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join a leading FMCG manufacturing company, based in Co. Westmeath. 

 

The Operations Manager will be responsible for end-to-end operations of the facility. 

 

Full-Time, Permanent Position. 

Excellent Negotiable Salary. 

Bonus, Pension Scheme and Healthcare. 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

• Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate & cost-effective way.
• Plan Production, Stock and oversee efficiencies.
• Plan shift/ roster patterns in advance to ensure staff requirements are met as well as production deadlines.
• Lead the team in delivering production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. 
• Work closely and support the Commercial, Engineering, Technical and Quality, H&S, Packaging, Logistics, HR etc.
• Ensure hygiene levels are maintained at Audit ready standards.
• Analyse budgets and financial data  to improve profitability.
• Monitor KPIs to achieve profit, quality, yield, cost and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Assist HR with the recruitment process to build a strong and efficient team.
• Encourage training and development and promote opportunities for employees to succeed..
• Spec and review equipment suitability including requirements for new equipment upgrades in all production areas.
• Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets and reduce cost per unit, 

Desired experience & Skills:

• A minimum of 3 years’ management experience in Food Manufacturing / Warehouse / FMCG Manufacturing Environment. 
• Knowledge of Industry from Production and Supply chain through to Retail.
• Product Knowledge including transport, storage, distribution, and legal requirements.
• Strong IT skills in particular with using ERP systems. 
• Experience budgeting and forecasting would be an advantage.
• Demonstrate commercial acumen and continuous improvement opportunities. 
• Experience with Lean 6 Sigma principles.
• Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organisational control of operations.
• Knowledge of business productivity software systems.
